Couple find their Retirement Bungalow at Cobnut Park
We speak to new homeowners Helen and George Patterson who moved into their new retirement bungalow at assisted living development Cobnut Park in Boughton Monchelsea, just before Christmas. Read on to find out about their puchasing journey and how they are enjoying their new home.
How did you first find out about Cobnut Park?
Our Daughter-in-Law who lives near Cobnut Park sent us a link she had found. She knew we were looking for a bungalow and thought it looked ideal.
Were you looking at other properties – if so, what made you choose Cobnut Park?
We had looked at another bungalow in the area but it needed a lot of work doing. The thought of a new build appealed to us and because of my heath issues the idea of the on-site care seemed a good idea, if not so much now but for in the future.
Had you seen a Clarendon Homes property before purchasing?
We were not aware of Clarendon Homes before purchasing at Cobnut Park as we did not live locally.
How did you find the reservation process – was it clear and well explained?
Our initial contact was with Ben from Sibley Pares. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the properties and explained everything to us. He answered all of our initial enquiries without making us feel pressured and he helped us regarding which plot to choose. If he couldn’t answer any of our questions immediately, he would always find out the answers and get straight back to us.
What is your favourite thing about your new Clarendon Homes retirement bungalow?
We love that we are in a bungalow. Mobility was becoming an issue and being on one level is great. Everything is new and of a very high standard. We particularly love our new kitchen and it was amazing that we were able to be part of the design process with Alon, the kitchen supplier.
How did Clarendon Homes deal with any changes needed to your new home?
Nothing was too much trouble. We felt that Clarendon went out of their way to ensure that we got exactly what we wanted – including giving us an open plan space instead of a separate kitchen/living room. When we moved in all the changes were exactly as we had asked.
How was your experience with Clarendon Homes’ customer service?
Customer service was the best. Alecia in particular was always very helpful and understanding of our needs. Nothing seemed too much trouble and she was always quick to respond.
When you picked your keys up did a representative give you a clear explanation of how things worked in the house?
We met with Gareth the day before we moved in and he explained clearly how everything worked and answered any queries we had. We were also left with an extensive manual that covered just about everything.
Did Clarendon Homes live up to their reputation?
We have heard several horror stories from family and friends who have moved into other new-build properties. We can honestly say that there are no such stories with Clarendon Homes. They made the whole process very easy and the finished product is superb. Everyone we have dealt with have been professional, friendly and reassuringly helpful.
Would you recommend Clarendon Homes to a friend?
We would not hesitate to recommend Clarendon Homes to anyone. They have been brilliant.
