New Staff Additions

02-09-2016 News, The Team

This year has brought a lot of change to the Clarendon office, with four more desks being filled. Learn more about the new members of our team here:

Robin

In February, architect Robin joined the Clarendon team. After starting out when he was 17 as an office junior at an architectural practice which did maintenance work at Canterbury Cathedral, he then studied to be an architectural technician at college. He completed his degree in architecture and environmental design at North East London Polytechnic University, and then his postgraduate diploma at Canterbury Art College.

Before joining Clarendon, Robin worked on a variety of projects including schools, train stations, healthcare, and the Museum of Moving Image for the British Film Institute. Through this diverse range of work Robin has met all sorts of people, from Margaret Thatcher to Richard Attenborough! Robin joined Clarendon as he wanted to work on a smaller scale. Although seemingly quiet, he always surprises the office with his knowledge of celebrity gossip and is the first to comment on the latest celebrity scandal.

Phil

Phil joined the architect department in March, bringing with him his vast range of both architectural and life experience. After finishing his undergraduate degree in architecture, Phil travelled the world, visiting everywhere from Italy to Nambia! He then completed his Masters level degree in architecture from the University of Kent, while working at Clague LLP and BDB Design LLP as an architectural assistant.

Phil’s previous job at Purccell gave him the opportunity to work on historic buildings including the Palace of Westminster and the Royal Courts of Justice. His passion is the residential sector, so naturally he has joined Clarendon to put his mark on our projects – and enjoy the perks of working for a small firm! Every now and again he also finds time to enlighten the office with one of his many travelling stories.

Alecia

March also saw the arrival of Alecia, the new sales and marketing administrator. Alecia is fresh out of uni, having gained both undergraduate and masters level degrees in english literature at Canterbury Christ Church University. After having done some voluntary marketing and PR work for businesses including Leeds Castle, she decided to pursue a career in the architecture field – she now assists Gareth in all things marketing and sales. With her creative background, she is excited for the opportunity to explore her ideas and put them to the test.

Julie

Julie joined shortly after Alecia, as part-time Office Administrator – the male to female ratio is gradually balancing out! Having a secretarial and sales background from her previous jobs at Marley Floors and Saga Holidays, Julie helps keep filing in order and generally assists in the office. Having an extra person on hand is especially valuable on the days when the phone rings non-stop!
